Intro Ride – 6th November

Are you interested in joining a cycling club? Want to ride your bike with a great bunch of supportive and welcoming cyclists? Why not come and join 700cc, an inclusive cycling club based in Windsor.

700cc are welcoming new members; on Sunday the 6th of November we will be running an introductory ride to allow you to practice riding in a group and get a feel for the way our club is organised and the way that we ride.

Group riding is brilliant! It means you can go further and faster by sharing the workload with your riding buddies. It also allows you to enjoy the more social side of cycling and gain motivation to get through the long winter months, however, when cycling in a  group to be safe you need to be disciplined and predictable.

To make sure we are all singing from the same hymn sheet when it comes to group riding,  we ask you to join an intro ride before coming out on our regular group rides. The focus of these rides is group riding skills as opposed to mileage or speed. Even if you are an experienced club cyclist we ask you to join as all clubs ride a little differently. After your intro ride you are welcome to join us for two regular rides before becoming a fully paid up member.

700cc is an inclusive club. We have one of the highest female memberships in the area and we have riders of all abilities from beginners up to regular racers (no world champions yet but we are working on it).

The intro ride leaves on Sunday morning 08:50 from the 700 shop in Peascod Street, Windsor. There will be a quick brief before we leave the shop and head on a flat 20-25 mile loop. Suitable for road bikes only, no TT bikes or Tri-bars please, you should be able to maintain at least 12.5mph average over the distance.

If you would like to join please leave us a message below, that way we can make sure we have enough experienced riders to ride with the group.

Any questions, doubts or concerns we would love to hear from you – info@700cc.org

700cc First Anniversary

WINDSOR 700cc celebrated their first anniversary as a cycle club in style with 50 riders setting off from the 700 shop in rides of various distances and speeds on Sunday.

The club prides itself on its inclusivity, attracting 25 per cent female membership and arranging group rides for the more socially minded, right up to the race team.

The glorious weather on Sunday saw routes out to Henley and Gerrards Cross, with coffee and cake stops at Velolife in Warren Row.

The day climaxed with a BBQ at The George in Eton, washed down with a keg of Windsor and Eton Brewery’s finest beer, and a live big screen viewing of a thrilling finish in the classic Paris Roubaix Cycle Race.
